1 and 9

1 and 9...what does it mean? No, I'm not talking football or the Penguins record (which isn't much better). I'm talking about the season record for my adult hockey league. 1 and 9! I don't think we've ever finished this bad. Needless to say playoffs are out of the question.

To make myself feel better, I created a list of excuses for why we lost so many games.

10) The referees didn't count my 10 goals per game
9) This wasn't xbox so there were no cheats to exploit
8) We let them win
7) It was raining outside
6) We brought a football instead of a puck
5) The fans were more entertaining than the game
4) We kept scoring on the wrong goalie
3) We didn't sing Cumbayah
2) We can't hit the broad side of a barn
and the #1 reason we went 1 and 9...
1) We were still out of shape from the NHL lockout

There is always hope though. New season starts in 2 or 3 weeks.

I love lists, and this is a great one---I'm going to adapt it for why none of my hand-crocheted items never fit. No, I won't---that would be too stereotypical a division of failures.

Congratulations on the MCF win---I'm going to bask in the glory of mine too.

I think we need a one list fits all for our failures. It is the easiest way for our society to blame others, which we need more of!

How about: there wasn't enough teams with short women goalies ... ?

Kelly: Good point. The most goals I've scored in a game did come against a short female goalie. But hey, if the net was only 2 feet tall she would have stopped them all!
